A lot of yoga accessories, such as the yoga bolster, were not used often in practice. Before the sixties, yoga accessories were used slightly to not at all. In the sixties, it was discovered that a lot of yoga students were having difficulties with holding the right posture or that there were injuries due to overburdening or a lack of flexibility. In this time period, several tools (including the yoga bolster) were developed by, amongst others, B.K.S. Iyengar. These days, these tools are used often to execute certain exercises more easily and with more comfort.
Usage and care:
A yoga bolster is a compact cushion, round or rectangular in shape.
The yoga bolster has been designed to support, among other things, the back, neck lower back and crook of the knee. It can also support the arms during specific yoga stances with a restoring effect and during certain active yoga stances.
The external and internal sleeves can be washed on a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, after removing the buckwheat filling. We advise you to always clean the sleeve with a moist cloth beforehand. Flattening and vacuum cleaning the yoga bolster regularly shall improve its sustainability.
By throwing the yoga bolster or dropping it hard, you may damage seams and the zipper.
Do not lie your bolster in the sun for a long time, it may cause them to decolour.
